The Las Vegas Raiders have been rumored to be listening to trade offers for wide receiver Hunter Renfrow this offseason. The Raiders have made some moves this offseason that could have led to Renfrow being traded. They drafted receiver Tre Tucker in the third round, and they signed receiver Jakobi Meyers who primarily played in the slot.
However, per Tashan Reed of the Athletic
“The Raiders haven’t been shopping Renfrow and haven’t received any trade offers for him, according to league sources”. Similar statements were made about Tight End Darren Waller from McDaniels mouth and Waller ended up being traded to the Giants.
Renfrow is a fifth-round pick who has quickly become one of the most productive receivers in the NFL. He had a breakout season in 2021, catching 103 passes for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns. He was rewarded with a two-year, $32 million contract extension before the 2022 season.
Renfrow’s production dipped in 2022, as he was limited to just 10 games due to injuries. However, he still finished with 36 catches for 330 yards and two touchdowns.
The Raiders are entering a new era under head coach Josh McDaniels completing their second off-season with the new regime and a full draft class under their belt. McDaniels is known for his innovative offensive schemes, and Renfrow is a player who can fit into any system. As of now Renfrow is expected to be on roster come week 1.
