Rookie Tight End Michael Mayer missed his 2nd straight practice Wednesday August 9th after the team had two scheduled days off.(August 7th-8th). Mayer also missed practice Sunday August 6th.
Vinny Bonsignore was the one who noticed Mayer looked like he may have tweaked something at his last practice on Saturday August 5th.
Now we can’t just jump to conclusions and assume the worst, Whatever it was could be something minor and doesn’t require much more then a few days of rest.
Raiders front office has yet to address anything regarding the rookie Tight End, so there is no need to panic at this point in time. In the case of significant time missed on Mayer’s end there is a reliable Veteran option in Austin Hooper. We should know shortly whether Mayer will miss time or be back on the Practice field to get ready for the season.
