Return Of The Slot: Nate Hobbs

Return Of The Slot: Nate Hobbs

Per Vinny Bonsignore of The Las Vegas Review Journal 3rd year Cornerback Nate Hobbs will revert back to the Slot as Rookie Jakorian Bennett has been off to a hot start in camp. Jakorian likely holds one outside position across from Newly Signed Marcus Peters who will be on the other end.

Nate Hobbs had an impressive rookie season in the slot where he had a top 10 grade per PFF among Cornerbacks only allowing 68 total yards in man coverage the fewest yards allowed by a rookie cornerback in 2021 and an 81.5 PFF grade when lined up in the slot, and a 79.4 overall PFF grade in 2021.

Hobbs was very good on the outside his sophomore season until breaking his hand in a Divisional Matchup against the Chiefs. Hobbs would then miss some time, upon his return Hobbs was wearing a Cast which doesn’t make it any easier to jam up Wide Receivers.

Look for Hobbs to have a bounce back year as he goes back to his most natural position and the improved Cornerback room developing around him. Big things can come in 2023 if this DB room can continue to gel together.
