The Raiders bring in some more Veteran presence for the Running back room as Austin Walter goes down for the year. The raiders have signed former Chiefs Running back Damien Williams per his agent.
Williams has spent time with the Dolphins, Chiefs, Falcons, & Bears before signing with the LAS Vegas Raiders.
This signing could send some fans in a flurry and believe this means Jacobs isn’t coming back. Wrong the move was needed once Walter went down and it wouldn’t be surprising if Jacobs does come back and Williams finds himself a spot on the roster regardless.
Williams a few seasons removed from what could have been the MVP performance of the Chiefs vs Niners Super Bowl. Williams had 17 Carries for 104 yards, 29 yards off 4 receptions and 2 touchdowns to go along with the performance .
Williams 31 years old now still brings some energy to the running back room, he’s a versatile back who can run between the tackles and catch passes out of the backfield. He is also a good pass blocker, which will be important in the Raiders’ offense. He brings a competitive nature and FEISTY attitude that could bode well and rub off on the young guys.
Welcome to the Silver & Black Damien.
